Dark House Lane, Coseley

This project involved asbestos removal and demolition of large foundry buildings as well as an extensive remediation and reprofiling 55,000m3 of material used as a tip site.

The remediation works included asbestos in the ground, various hot-spots and Japanese Knotweed present. The excavated material required an extensive program of sorting and screening before the materials could be re-used on site.

The site was then subject to a cut/fill exercise to prepare the site for 142 new homes, overseen by our in-house engineering team. The site was handed back to the client with piling mats installed, ready for construction.

The project was carried out within the original program period despite encountering unforeseen additional works on site.
